Education Minister of Sindh Saeed Ghani said while doing a press conference that examinations for class 1 to 7th will be conducted from June 1 to 15 while the new education year will commence from June 1.
The Minister confirmed that Students will not be promoted without taking exams and exams of grade 9th and 10th will be commenced from on June 15 while Intermediate students, both grade 11 and 12, will have their examinations from July 6. All papers will be held in the afternoon shift, Saeed Ghani added.
Coronavirus in Pakistan: Nationwide health emergency recommended
Earlier, the Sindh government has announced to extend the school holidays till May 30 amid growing anxiety over the spread of novel coronavirus.
The decision was made during a special cabinet meting presided by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
It was also decided that these holidays would be treated as summer vacations.
The examinations of 9th and 10th grade have also been canceled.

The National Security Committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to close the educational institutions across the country till April 5.
