Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan chaired the federal cabinet meeting via video link on today (Tuesday).
The meeting reviewed the situation arising from coronavirus spread in the country as well as the current political, economical situation.
As a preventive measure against the coronavirus, the cabinet members participated in the meeting through the video link.
The federal cabinet discussed a two-point agenda during the meeting.
Sources said the cabinet discussed the overall political, economical situation of the country.
The cabinet briefed on the situation emerged in the country after the outbreak of coronavirus.
The federal cabinet reviewed the implementation of the decisions taken in the National Security Council (NSC) meeting.
The briefing on upcoming fiscal year budget 2020-21 is also a part of the agenda.
While, the detailed briefing by power ministry also included in the cabinet’s agenda.
In the last federal cabinet meeting, PM Imran Khan had expressed displeasure over non-submission of a final probe report on the wheat and sugar crisis.
The premiere also gave the authorities concerned one week to submit the report without fail.
Imran Khan fears coronavirus to devastate third-world economies
Earlier on today, Prime Minister Imran Khan said, he fears the new coronavirus will devastate third-world economies.
According to the details, Imran Khan said, “My worry is poverty and hunger.”
He also said, “The world community has to think of some sort of a debt write-off for countries like us, which are very vulnerable, at least that will help us in coping with [coronavirus].”
