Chairman NDMA Lt. Gen. Muhammad Afzal has said that the situation regarding ventilators is under control. There is no truth in the social media reports about Faisalabad.

Briefing the media in Islamabad about the situation of coronavirus, he said that 128 people were on ventilators across the country. There are about 4200 ventilators in the public and private sector while 1310ventilators have been ordered.

Lt. Gen. Muhammad Afzal said 2,000 ventilators would be needed by the end of June. By May 31, we will have 585 ICU ventilators. In some hospitals the pressure may increase. The United States also offered to supply 200 ventilators. 100 of these ventilators will reach Pakistan soon.

Chairman NDMA said that we violated the SOPs of COVD-19 during Eid, locusts, and floods risk is also on our head we have to prepare for that too.

Chairman NDMA said that the operation against the locust is underway in four divisions of Punjab. In this regard, medicines have been provided to all the provinces.

He said the first and second week of June would be a wake-up call. The locust will turn to Pakistan from Iran and Muscat. We have done our best. China has provided 300,000 liters of medicine to eradicate locusts. One lakh liters of medicine will be ordered in the second week of June.
