There are 2356 ventilators in the country for a population of 22 crore. Of these, only 702 ventilators are available for more than 38,000 Coronavirus patients while the rest are being used for other patients.

According to the report, only 333 ventilators are available for coronavirus patients in Punjab and 129 in Sindh. There are 87 ventilators available for coronavirus patients in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 31 in Balochistan, 29 in Azad Kashmir and only 3 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The report also states that 90 ventilators are available for coronavirus patients in Islamabad. The shortage of ventilators has led to fears that the situation could worsen if the virus gets out of control.

Note that the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country is 39473 out of which 836 have died while 10880 have been recovered so the number of active cases is 27,746.

The number of people infected with the virus in Sindh is 15,590 while in Punjab it is 14,201.

Similarly, 5678 people have been affected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the number has reached 2457 in Balochistan.

Coronavirus has affected 921 people in Islamabad, 518 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 108 in Azad Kashmir.

The coronavirus death toll throughout the country is as follow,

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 291
  • Sindh: 268
