Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood said on Thursday that there will be no examinations for the grade 9 and 11th students.
Addressing news conference in Islamabad, Federal minister of education said Grade 9th and grade 11th students have been promoted to new classes.
He said students who have ninth and eleventh results have been promoted to tenth and twelfth.These students will take the 10th and 12th exams next year. He further said Passing marks will be given to students who fail in 40% of the subjects. Shafqat Mehmood said there will be special examinations for those students who wish to attend 11th and 12th exams together.
Earlier Education Minister of Sindh Saeed Ghani has announced that inter and matric students will be promoted without examinations due to ongoing coronavirus.
Addressing news conference Sindh Education Minister announced that there will be no examinations for inter and matric students due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
The education minister said that board examinations will also not take place.
“We will introduce an amendment to existing laws to promote students to the next grade,” he said adding that the decisions have been taken by the provincial steering committee on education. “We will collect students’ data so that children can be promoted and do not face difficulties in securing college admissions.”
Saeed Ghani also said the students will be rewarded with three percent extra marks based on previous academic record. Earlier Sindh Government announced that Grade 1-8 students will be promoted on the basis previous academic record.
