Popular actress Mehwish Hayat, who also conferred with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, had revealed in June 2018 that she would be seen starring in a Biopic of Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the first woman Prime Minister of the Islamic world.

The actress, while refraining from elaborating on the film, said that she would be appearing in the film for the first time as a politician and she was proud to play the role of a brave woman.

In an interview with showbiz website Desi Blitz, Mehwish Hayat spoke about the film and said that she is making full preparations to look like Benazir Bhutto in the film.

The actress said that the film will show the events of Benazir Bhutto from her life at Oxford University to her entry into politics and then her assassination.

Mehwish Hayat said that it would be an honour for her to play the role of Benazir Bhutto, she is like a Shakespearean heroine to her.

The actress apologized for not telling more details about the film and said that there is an agreement between her and the film team not to talk more about it, so she could not give further details.

During the interview, Mahesh Hayat also revealed that she will also be seen in Humayun Saeed’s upcoming romantic comedy film  ‘London Nahi jaon ge’.

During the interview, she also spoke on Bollywood and said that the Bollywood industry can improve relations between Pakistan and India through films, but unfortunately, they portrayed Pakistan negatively in most Bollywood films.

Mehwish Hayat said that just as the Indian film industry has a unique status, the Pakistani drama industry also has a unique significance in the world.

In the interview, Mahesh Hayat also mentioned three things that make her look like a traditional countrywoman.

The actress said that her intense love for biryani, listening to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan all the time and putting oil in her hair by her mother every Sunday make her a country girl.

Mahesh Hayat was born in Karachi and most of her family members are associated with the TV, fashion and music industry.

Her mother Rukhsar is also an actress while her brother Danish is a model. Her sister Afsheen and brother Zeeshan are part of the music.

Mahesh Hayat is the fourth of five siblings and has gained a lot of popularity in the showbiz industry in the last few years.

Mahesh Hayat first started modelling at the age of 13 and worked in a bubble gum commercial for the first time.

After completing her higher education, her short film Insha Allah released in 2009 and after doing an item number song in ‘Namaloom Afraad‘ in 2014, she made an excellent entry in films.
