Gilgit-Baltistan Agriculture Minister Haji Janbaz Khan has died of the coronavirus.
The Health Department of Gilgit-Baltistan’s focal person Dr Shah Zaman confirmed the death of the provincial minister.
Dr Shah Zaman said that the provincial minister had been undergoing treatment at City Hospital Gilgit for the last four days.
However, when his condition worsened, he went to the ventilator, but he could not recover.
Dr Shah Zaman further said that the report of COVID-19 test of Provincial Minister Janbaz Khan was positive but due to poor health of Haji Janbaz, he could not be shifted to the isolation center.
It may be recalled that Haji Janbaz Khan, the provincial minister who died of coronavirus, was the founding leader of PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan.
It should be noted that several politicians in the country have fallen victim to the coronavirus, including the senior leadership of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and opposition parties Pakistan Peoples Party, PML-N and others.
