Welfare of farmer is top priority of government: Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan is an agricultural country and the welfare of farmers is one of the top priorities of our government.
According to details, a high level delegation of farmers led by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on Finance Advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.
During the meeting, politicians and farmer leaders explained the difficulties faced by farmers due to the lockdown, while the suggestions of the parliamentary committee and the views of political leaders were also discussed.
On the occasion, Finance Advisor Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh briefed the farmer’s leaders in detail about the proposed special relief for farmers in the forthcoming budget.
During the meeting, Finance Advisor Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh also decided to form a special committee in consultation with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to resolve the issues of farmers on priority basis.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan is an agricultural country and prosperity of farmers is indispensable for our economic development.
Federal Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhr Imam, Federal Minister for Revenue Hamad Azhar, Trade Advisor Razzaq Dawood, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Zain Qureshi and other important parliamentary leaders were present on the occasion.
