The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) is probable to experience losses of Rs 100 billion due to postponement of international flights amid COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the details, the national airline would also lose up to Rs12 billion in terms of Hajj operations this year after the Saudi government decided to hold the yearly pilgrimage on a limited scale.

It is to be noted that the airline is also facing losses up to Rs9 billion due to closure of Umrah operations.

The sources said that the PIA is expected to incur losses up to Rs100 bn due to ban on flight operations by the United Kingdom, the United States and European Union.

Earlier, The letter from Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has sought clarification from the Civil Aviation Authority on the questionable pilot’s license.

According to details, a letter has been written by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication of Bahrain to the DG Civil Aviation.

The text of the letter also raises concerns from the government of Bahrain about Pakistani pilots working in the Gulf Air.
