PESHAWAR: The 2-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programs have been abolished from colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to details, the programs of Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in the colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been abolished. In this regard, the Higher Education Department has sent a letter to all the colleges.

The letter said that new admissions should be made in the BS program, 4 year BS program has been started in 128 colleges of the province after the BS program 2-year program of BA and BSc has been terminated.

According to the letter, students will only get admission to 4-year BSc.

Remember that the Higher Education Commission had decided to abolish BA, BSC by the year 2020.

It may be recalled that last year, the Punjab Education Department had decided to abolish the two-year BA and BSc degrees and while issuing the notification had directed the educational institutions to replace the BA, BSC with a new and modern two-year degree and an associate degree will be introduced.

In the associate degree, students will be able to replace specialized subjects with specialized subjects and under this students will have to undergo practical training to get marks.
