PTI Sindh demands audit of World bank funds given for cleaning of Karachi drains

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi President and Member Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman has demanded an audit of funds provided by the World Bank for drains cleaning in Karachi.

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Khurram Sherzaman said that the World Bank had given Rs 1 billion for the cleaning of the city’s drains.

Khurram Sherzaman said that Mahmoodabad, Gujjar Nala, Sherpao Nala, Orangi Nala, Tipu Sultan Nala and Nahar Khayyam are in bad condition. And Jinnah Hospital was also submerged.

He said that one billion rupees was to be spent on 38 drains of Karachi but nothing was known about it. The World Bank should conduct an audit of this one billion rupees.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi also lashed out at Sindh government and demanded cleaning of drains of Karachi.

Ali Haider Zaidi has termed Bilawal Bhutto as “Baby Zardari” and asked him to focus on improving the situation of Karachi.

Tweeting on a social networking site, the federal minister said that the Sindh Chief Minister is always enamoured to do the press conference.

Instead of holding press conferences, the Sindh government should make arrangements for drainage, he added.

Criticizing the Sindh government, federal minister Ali Zaidi said that the Sindh government should do something if it gets a chance from corruption, drugs and land grabbing.

In the last rains, the drains were cleaned through PTI’s clean Karachi campaign and the city was saved from drowning, Ali Zaidi stated.

“There has been more rain, which has accumulated more water, ” federal minister taunted Bilawal Zardari.
