Take a face mask, or embellish it with jewels, or attach it to a long, flowing neck scarf. Which is it that you have? A pandemic measure, yes, but also a message of luxury fashion which can cost from 75 to 160 euros ($87-185).
As wearing a mask has become a part of everyone’s daily life due to coronavirus, a Belgian designer transforms medical mask into a trendy accessory.
Brussels-based stylist Aude De Wolf has created a “scarf mask,” which combines masks with luxurious shawls using linen, cashmere, and other high-quality materials.
The designer said,
“I was inspired by my mother because she doesn’t like her neck.”
“You can slip the mask off when you’re in the car and slip it back on in the shops … You could say it’s a luxury product.”
Olivia Hainaut has turned her talents to create masks of sequins, diamonds, and other flamboyant touches, including silk flowers. We sell from 75 cents, depending on the work involved and the materials.
“These are not masks for everyday wear, perhaps for a party or a wedding … the idea is to bring some joy to something that is very sad,” De Wolf said highlighting coronavirus.
