President Dr Arif Alvi has thanked President Erdogan for his strong and clear stance on Kashmir in the UN General Assembly, while the Turkish President has also invited President Alvi to visit Turkey.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan telephoned President Dr Arif Alvi and extended wishes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
President Dr Arif Alvi said that Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated in difficult circumstances this year and the world is facing many challenges. COVID-19 has badly affected the global economy.
The President lauded Turkey’s leadership and assistance to various countries, including Pakistan, in the fight against COVID-19 and said that the reduction in the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan and Turkey was welcoming.
The President thanked President Erdogan for his strong and clear stance on Kashmir in the UN General Assembly while highlighting the plight of Kashmiris in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The President said that Indian Muslims are living in an atmosphere of fear and discrimination. He hoped that Turkey would raise its voice in principle after one year of Indian illegal and unilateral measures in Kashmir, even in difficult circumstances. I am continuing my oppression. Pakistan will continue its policy of providing permanent support and all possible assistance to Turkey’s national interests.
