World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF Pakistan) has stated that the planned development work on the Indus River could be detrimental to the Indus Dolphin.
According to the details, WWF Pakistan says that due to development works, the dolphin habitat is limited and now it is found only in the Indus River.
They said that earlier Indus dolphins were found in the rivers Sutlej, Beas, Ravi and Jhelum of Pakistan but development works have wiped out the inhabitants of dolphins in these rivers.
WWF Pakistan has stated that in collaboration with the concerned agencies, satellite tags have been planned to be placed on three dolphins to monitor the migration of dolphins in the Indus River.
Officials say it is very difficult to tag Indus dolphins, so the work will start with a small number.
