Maria Sharapova’s former tennis star delights her followers with her engagement news with her boyfriend Alexander Gilkes.

The 33-year old star took to her official Instagram handle to announce the news alongside the picture of her boyfriend.

She penned down, “I said yes from the first day. This was our little secret, wasn’t  it.”

The Russian began dating Alexander Gilkes, residing in New York, a couple of years ago.

The duo captured the attention after being seen together in the US and made it to the headline of Brtish Newspapers.

Alexander Gilkes is known as New York’s best-connected Briton, according to numerous media outlets, whose ex-wife is also a friend of Meghan Markle.

As per the declaration made in reports, it is also stated that the duo was also supposed to attend the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Gilker and Prince Harry attended the same school together which is the reason for them to be close to one another. However, he met Prince William when both of them were residing at Eton as claimed by the reports.

He was also among the guest who attended the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton as well.
