KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) on Friday extended the date for various service providers to claim the benefits under the normal tax regime up to July 30, 2021.
A circular issued by the provincial revenue authority said the provincial revenue board had allowed the eligible taxpayers to submit their online election/option forms by Friday, July 30, 2021 in case they had failed to do so by the prescribed date, i.e., July 21, 2021.
The prevalent normal sales tax rate on services in Sindh is 13 per cent. However, the provincial government has allowed a reduced tax rate to many service providers, but under the reduced rate, the taxpayers are not allowed to adjust the input tax.
The service providers who have been provided extension in the date included franchise services and intellectual property services; construction services; ready mix concrete services; beauty parlours, beauty clinics, slimming clinics, body massage centres, pedicure centres, etc; healthcare centres, gym or physical fitness centres; transportation or carriage goods services; and intercity transportation or carriage services.
These service providers have been granted a reduced rate of sales tax ranging in between 5 per cent and 10 per cent.
