Pakistan and China discussed evolving situation in Afghanistan

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart Foreign Minister and State Councilor Wang Yi conversed the developing condition in Afghanistan over a telephonic call.

During the conversation, FM Qureshi emphasized that a peaceful and steady Afghanistan has immense importance for Pakistan and the district, read the statement by the Foreign Office.

Pakistan had diligently braced the Afghan peace process, he said.

Pakistan and China, as being a part of Troika Plus, had made a respected involvement in these efforts, the statement noted.

The statement further mentioned that Qureshi is stating that given the current condition, it is tremendously important to safeguard security and protection as well as the guarding of rights of the Afghan people.

He further strained that a comprehensive political reimbursement was indispensable, for which all Afghans join forces.

Qureshi further stated that it was likewise important for the international community to continue engagement in the sustenance of the Afghan people.

He also emphasized that the international community should have persistent economic engagement with Afghanistan.

He explained FM Wang Yi of Pakistan’s efforts to ease the withdrawal of personnel, and staff of diplomatic missions, international organizations, media, and others from Afghanistan.

FM Qureshi said Pakistan and China are “iron brothers” and premeditated partners.

“The two countries have the tradition of maintaining close coordination and communication on the issues of common interest”, he added.

Both countries agreed to endure in close contact to endorse the countries’ shared objects.
