It came, it saw and it conquered, that’s the only way to describe Disneytreaming  Service has taken over the world in no time. Unfortunately, in Pakistan, it is still not available, but its content is through different means. It is because of this available content that viewers are quite anxious about the arrival of Disney in Pakistan. Which series are these that are good enough to make you share your viewing schedule with other OTT platforms, let’s find out:

WandaVision

Created by Jac Shaeffer, WandaVision is based on Marvel characters Wanda Maximoff and Vision from the Avengers franchise. Not only was it the first Disney+ show to air this year, but it also paved the way for more shows. Featuring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda and Paul Bettany as Vision, this nine-episode miniseries revolves around the events of Avengers: Endgame, in which Wanda and Vision are supposedly living an ideal life, when suddenly everything turns upside down for some unknown reason.

Shot in the format of yesteryear sitcoms, the first episode of WandaVision seems like a 1960s sitcom, whereas the next moves onto the 1970s, then 1980s, and so forth. However, after a major twist, things happen in the present day, where our heroes not only learn about reality but also save the day in their own way. Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness was introduced during the series and became a fan favorite because of the mystery surrounding her character.

Add to that the strange appearance of Wanda’s dead brother, as well as Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis (from the Thor franchise) and you, have a perfect TV show for the whole family. With just nine episodes of varied duration, WandaVision is something you would like to watch before moving ahead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for it will help you understand the multiverse, easily.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier

Steve Rogers is Captain America; Captain America is Steve Rogers. However, that all changed after Avengers: Endgame when Steve Rogers went back in time and decided only to return in real-time, as an older Captain America. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier revolves around the aftermath of Captain America’s decision to hand over the Shield to Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) who donates it to the Government.

However, everything goes sideways when the Government decides to pass on the title of Captain America to John Walker (Wyatt Russell), a decorated US soldier just because he has done good work in the field. The friction between the new Captain America and the real Captain America’s former aides The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) takes the series in a new direction, where one is the hunter and the other is the hunted, till the matter is solved. However, when the new Captain America commits a crime, the good guys put an end to his reign as the Cap, and take back what’s theirs.

‘Avengers’ regulars like Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, Daniel Brühl as Helmut Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter and Florence Kasumba as Ayo also make their appearances in pivotal roles. They get to do things they had done in the films, with some of them shocking the fans with their ulterior motives. The series is filled with action that will not only remind you of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also make you forget that last year was a Marvel-less year for fans.

Loki

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is easily one of the most loved characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite being a supervillain. He is not only the God of Mischief but also Thor’s stepbrother who wants to rule over Asgard or Earth. However, in this six-episode miniseries, he is more of an anti-hero than a supervillain, for he is both sentenced for his deeds, as well as used for his superpowers.

The story takes place after Loki has stolen the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame, and is brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority (TVA) for trial. The TVA agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) gives Loki a chance to redeem himself, by helping him go after a more dangerous Loki aka Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), or risk being erased from existence. Loki agrees to stop the greater threat by traveling through time, before realizing that all doesn’t seem well at TVA itself.

The series features a lot of Lokis, and while Tom Hiddleston is playing one variant, other actors are playing the other versions. How they help Loki to find out the truth, making this miniseries all the more interesting. Watching Owen Wilson as his captor turned friend also adds color to the colorful show, where every episode delivers something you least expected. The special effects are out of this world, as is the pace of the narrative, making you want to watch it all quickly, and without a break. And the climax is worthy of a Marvel series, where twists and turns will make (or ruin) your day.
