A 26-year-old Pakistan Army soldier was martyred after terrorists fired at a military post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district, said the Inter Services Public Relations in a statement on Wednesday.

The military’s media wing shared that terrorists had attacked a military post in the Thall area of Hangu District late Tuesday night.

The ISPR said troops had responded promptly to the attack that “effectively engaged the terrorists”. It identified sepoy Waqas as the martyred soldier, adding that he was a resident of Mansehra.

“Area clearance is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in area,” concluded the ISPR.

This is the second time that such an incident has taken place in KP this week.

On Monday a 25-year-old sepoy was martyred after terrorists fired on a security forces post in North Waziristan.

The military’s media wing said that terrorists had fired on a security forces post in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan.

The ISPR said that the troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location.
