Darth Vader collection of over 70,000 moves to Texas
A guy and his wife recently relocated from the Washington, D.C., region to Texas, bringing with them an odd collection of almost 70,000 objects relating to Star Wars villain Darth Vader.
Bill McBride, who just relocated to the Rio Grande Valley with his wife, Rebecca, said he began collecting Darth Vader memorabilia when he was a child and transformed his “Vader Vault” into a serious collection approximately 30 years ago.
McBride estimated in 2015 that he spent over $270,000 on his collection of slightly over 60,000 pieces, and his collection has subsequently increased to more than 70,000 items, with the exact amount unknown.

McBride tells the media, “I couldn’t afford my own collection today.”
McBride’s collection of toys, paintings, one-of-a-kind helmets, and other objects is growing continuously.
As per McBride stated, “It’s something that still brings me joy and still truly makes me happy to do it. We all have our hobbies and our interests and this is something I truly enjoy.”
An original stage performance helmet from George Lucas’ Super Live Adventure in Japan, according to McBride, is one of his most prized possessions.
According to McBride, “I absolutely love. It was offered to me by a good friend of mine.”
He added, “He knew it was going to a good home, so it kinda checks all those boxes. It’s a super significant piece in its own way, has a sentimental value, and just the history behind it.”
