KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Friday announced that the gas supply to the compressed natural gas (CNG) stations will be suspended every Sunday for 24 hours.

The gas supply will remain suspended to the CNG stations from 8 am (Sunday) to 8 am (Monday), said SSGC.

However, SSGC stated that the gas supply to CNG stations to stay suspended for 24 hours, the shutting plan might be extended depending upon the upsurge in the demand of the gas.

Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar chaired a sub-committee meeting of the federal cabinet on Energy and stated to shut gas supply to the CNG sector in order to overcome shortage of supply to domestic customers.

During the meeting Asad Umar was briefed on demand and supply of gas in the winter season with load management possibilities accessible to the government.
