KARACHI: A delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmakers on Monday assured the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) of raising their concerns at all parliamentary forums of the country.

In a meeting at the association head office, PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman paid tribute to the services of the ABAD in their contribution to the national economy.

He said that the Sindh Assembly passed a black law in the name of Local Government Amendment Bill, adding the PTI has been fighting for the betterment of the local government system for four years.

“The Sindh government promised us that it would bring a re-empowered system, but unfortunately the bill was not authoritative but powerless,” he said. “With this new bill in action, the mayor would not have any financial power and moreover education, health and KWSB would not be under his domain. People cannot go to Sukkur or Larkana to complain about water.”

Zaman said that the PTI aspires to see Sindh Building Control Authority be made Karachi Building Authority.
