In the midst of significant global changes, it is critical for the Shanghai Collaboration Organization (SCO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to expand cooperation and fully utilise their respective capabilities, according to SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming here on Thursday.
Zhang stated at the first Eurasian Economic Forum that the two organisations officially established their cooperative relationship in 2021 and have interacted in areas such as economy, finance, logistics, investment, trade, digitalization, customs regulation, industry, energy, and agriculture, among others.
“Based on this, the two groups have strengthened their legal foundation for collaboration. We expect that successful exchanges and in-depth cooperation would result in tangible advantages for regional development “said Zhang.
“The international situation is changing dramatically, and the COVID-19 epidemic is wreaking havoc on global and regional economy. It is even more critical that we join forces and fully use the assets of both organisations “He stated.
He also expressed hope for both groups’ continued development and increased contributions.
With the subject of “Economic Integration in Eurasian in an Era of Global Changes New Investment Opportunities, “The forum takes place on the eve of the convening of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the EAEU’s top governing body.
