Tokyo shares end higher

Tokyo shares ended higher on Friday, reversing overnight falls on Wall Street as good deal-hunting purchases offset the chance-off sentiment among buyers.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index surged 1.27 percent, or 336.19 points, at 26,739.03, while the broader Topix index added 0.93 percent, or 17.29 points, to 1,877.37.
