Google changed the name of its Bard chatbot to Gemini and introduced its new powerful AI model, Gemini Ultra, which users can access through Gemini Advanced. Alongside this update, Google expanded the availability of its Gemini app to additional regions, such as Latin America, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Canada.

Jack Krawczyk, Google‘s product lead for Gemini, affirmed the announcement and disclosed that the Gemini app is set to be introduced in Europe at the earliest opportunity.

For users in Pakistan and other regions where the Gemini app isn’t officially available yet, there’s an option to sideload the app onto your Android device before its official release. Reports indicate that the app functions properly in the regions where it’s currently accessible, suggesting that sideloading should pose no significant issues in unsupported regions. However, users may need to set their language preference to US English.

Installing Google Bard will replace Google Assistant on your phone, which is unfortunate because Gemini lacks the ability to perform certain basic tasks that were possible with Assistant. These tasks include modifying alarms or reminders, launching apps, toggling smart home controls, and more.
