PM Shehbaz felicitates President Asif Ali Zardari

ISLAMABAD:  Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Asif Ali Zardari, on his election to the office of President of Pakistan, for a second term.

The prime minister said that the members of the National Assembly, Senate and the four provincial assemblies had reposed confidence in Asif Ali Zardari.

On the other hand, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam congratulated Asif Ali Zardari on his election to the office of the President.

“I would like to express my sincere congratulations on the election of Asif Ali Zardari, as the 14th President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” the Ambassador said in a statement.

According to Ambassador, Asif Ali Zardari reminded them the “glorious and golden days” of the relations between the two brotherly, friendly and neighboring countries of Iran and Pakistan.

The Envoy wished for a boost in the all-out relations and ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan during his tenure.

Earlier, Asif Ali Zardari, the candidate of the government coalition, was elected as the 14th President of the country with 411 electoral votes against Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who has got 181 electoral votes.
