Mobile Phone Prices Reduced in Pakistan Before Eid Celebrations!

As Pakistan gears up for Eid festivities, a significant development has occurred in the mobile phone market. Both local and foreign mobile phone manufacturers have reduced prices on more than 20 mobile phone models by amounts ranging from Rs400 to Rs10,000.

The All Pakistan Mobile Phone Association has confirmed this price reduction, highlighting that it encompasses not only push-button phones but also smartphones. This move comes amidst challenges faced by mobile phone companies in meeting their sales targets.

Experts note that the reduction in prices is also influenced by the increasing number of mobile phones being manufactured locally in Pakistan. This trend has posed challenges to global companies, prompting them to adjust their prices to remain competitive.

Representatives from mobile phone companies have expressed efforts to stabilize the industry in the Pakistani market through these significant rate reductions.

Earlier concerns raised by the Pakistan Mobile Phone Manufacturing Association (PMPMA) highlighted inconsistencies in government policies, which have hindered the entry of products like the iPhone into the Pakistani market.

The Engineering Development Board (EDB) has identified policy directives and coordination issues among government departments and ministries as major hurdles to the growth of mobile phone manufacturing in Pakistan. However, recent price adjustments align with positive economic indicators, suggesting a potential reduction in the inflation rate.

This price reduction trend is not limited to smartphones but also extends to keypad mobile devices, with reductions of up to Rs500 observed.
