BAJAUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Akhundzada Chattan narrowly escaped in bomb blast in in Mamund Tehsil of Bajaur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Bakht Munir, Akhunzada Chattan was safe in the rock blast, but his vehicle was damaged.

According to the DSP, the explosives were planted in a motorcycle parked on the roadside. When Akhunzada Chattan’s car approached the motorcycle, the explosion occurred.

Akhunzada Chattan is the PPP’s candidate for NA-8 of Bajaur in the by-elections scheduled for April 21.

Police said that Akhunzada Chattan was returning after addressing the rally.

It should be noted that by-elections will be held on April 21 in NA-8 Bajaur and PK-22 Bajaur.

An Independent candidate Rehan Zeib Khan was shot dead during election campaign on January 31. He was a candidate from NA-8 and PK-22. After his murder, the elections scheduled for February 8 on both the seats were postponed.
