KARACHI: Six additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) took oath as permanent judges.
Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi administered the oath to the permanent judges.
Judges of Sindh High Court, representatives of Bar Association and lawyers participated in the ceremony, the families of the permanent judges also participated in the swearing-in ceremony.
Justice Amjad Ali Bohio, Justice Sana Akram Minhas, Justice Jawad Akbar Sarwana, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Abdul Rahman and Justice Arbab Ali Hakro are among those who took oath as permanent judges.
All the 6 judges were appointed as Additional Judges in 2023, the number of permanent judges in Sindh High Court has increased to 32 but still 8 posts are vacant.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the permanent appointment of 6 judges of the Sindh High Court.
The Ministry of Law also issued a notification to make judges permanent.
These judges were recommended to be made permanent by the Judicial Commission in the last session.
After the approval of the Parliamentary Committee, the President also approved the permanent appointment of the judges.
