Karachi, the bustling port city of Pakistan, is on high alert as a scorching heatwave is expected to sweep through the area. The city’s meteorological department predicts a notable increase in temperatures, with highs reaching up to 46 degrees Celsius in upper and central Sindh.

The coastal regions of the province, including Karachi, are preparing for a severe heatwave. Temperatures in the city are forecast to range from 36°C to 38°C, but elevated humidity levels will create a sensation of scorching heat, reaching 40°C to 44°C.

Health experts advise citizens to take precautions against the discomfort and health risks posed by the heat. They strongly recommend increased water intake to stay hydrated in the soaring temperatures. Wearing light clothing is also advised to reduce the impact of the intense summer heat.

The ongoing heatwave, which began in late April, has intensified due to a change in wind direction and higher humidity levels. These extreme weather conditions have raised concerns about the welfare of the city’s inhabitants.
