First Alibaba.com Multan Seller Summit held

MULTAN: Alibaba.com, a leading platform for global business-to-business (B2B) trade, successfully hosted its first seller summit in Multan to highlight the export opportunities available to the local businesses from online commerce, reaffirming its commitment to helping exporters in the region enter the global market, a statement said.

The event was attended by more than 250 participants, including over 100 participants who tuned in online, it added.

The Alibaba.com seller summit, titled “Multan Seller Summit-Export! KYA? KYUN? AUR KAISE — Alibaba.com Ke Saath”, discussed various aspects of B2B e-commerce in the global market and how Pakistani exporters can tap the opportunity.

The Alibaba.com representatives also provided the participants with the tips and advice on equipping themselves with the necessary skills and tools to thrive as sellers on Alibaba.com.

The event featured a line-up of speakers from Alibaba.com, as well as prominent industry leaders from Multan, including Amy Li, marketing head at Alibaba.com Pakistan; Sheikh M Asim Saeed, vice president of the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Malik Junaid Ashraf, certified trainer of Alibaba.com; Shazil Majeed, co-founder of Epic Crafting; and Tanveer Nandla, founder of Iskills Pakistan.

Li said: “We are overwhelmed to visit Multan, as this region has huge untapped potential for e-commerce export development. We wish to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) here achieve sustainable growth by building their presence on our digital marketplace and boosting their visibility among the global buyers, and in turn, help promote the country’s exports.”

Saeed said: “The Multan business community is excited to work with a global player like Alibaba.com to support B2B e-commerce businesses here. With Alibaba.com, we look forward to promoting our export sector and boosting awareness of our quality suppliers and products among the international buyers.”

Alibaba.com has been supporting the SMEs growth since 1999 with digital tools designed specifically for B2B trade such as custom digital storefronts, communication tools, AI-powered buyer-supplier matching, customers and platform analytics and online trade shows.

The platform has been dedicating efforts to onboarding the Pakistani businesses make global trade more accessible to the local SMEs.
