The Lunda Bazaar was actually Linda, a lady in the UK who did charitable work. However, the word was mispronounced and now it is part of the vernacular. The ever-popular Linda Bazaar has a variety of used items for sale, the majority of which include clothing, bags and shoes. The oldest Lunda Bazar is located at Light House, Karachi. It has very affordable rates which suit many low-income families. One can even get electronics, household items, toys and decorative items. According to Najeeb, a shopkeeper a used bridal dress is available from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 compared to the lowest price of Rs15,000 in the regular market. A toy vendor Zaman, says, a used good condition toy is sold for Rs100 to Rs300. A customer Majid, a resident of FB Area, said these shops are a blessing for the low-salaried and middle class.
