Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday visited the Head Quarters of Gujranwala Corps and was briefed about operational preparedness.
Solidarity displayed by the nation with Kashmiri brethren during Kashmir Hour today is a strong message to the world, COAS said during his visit.
Deteriorating situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir is threat to regional peace, he added.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS was briefed on state of operational preparedness.
Speaking on the occasion, Gen Qamar Bajwa said that Strike Corps has critical and decisive role in war.
Your state of preparedness, training standards and high morale are very encouraging which enhance the confidence.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa further stated that operational preparedness of Strike Corps has developed trust among the people.
The COAS inaugurated Urea Formaldehyde Molding Compound (UFMC) Plant at Wah Nobel Chemicals Factory at POF which was completed within eight months.
The new plant is equipped with the latest and most economical silver catalyst technology, which will reduce the production cost.
It was revealed further that COAS also visited POF display center where new defense products were showcased.
General Bajwa appreciated the achievements of Research and Development Department of POF as well.
The COAS stressed upon the management of POF to adopt proactive approach for entering into joint ventures with foreign countries as well as the private sector and bringing diversification to its product range.
At HIT, the army chief was shown defense manufacturing facilities including up gradations of various tanks.
He appreciated the efforts and contributions of POF and HIT in manufacturing defense and security equipment at par with international standards making defense capability robust and self-reliant saving national exchequer.
