Addressing the inaugural function of ‘Clean Karachi’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the cleaning of Karachi, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said that the task of cleaning up the process is to work with utmost concern.

According to the details, the Karachi Clean Trust campaign was inaugurated today by Federal Minister for Naval Affairs Ali Zaidi.

Ali Zaidi is committed to clear all the drains of the city in two weeks and to pick up the trash.

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said that we are on a single page for cleaning the city.

He said that it is the responsibility of the provincial government to take notice of Karachi.

Plastic bags are the main reason for the waste, they should be banned first.

Mayor Karachi said that the KMC is not fulfilling its duty properly.

He said that 16 hospitals are operating under the KMC and the fire brigade department is also under the management of the Municipality.

He said that Sindh government is demanding accountability from us while the Supreme Court has called Sindh the most corrupt province.

Wasim Akhtar said that people are suffering from hepatitis and other diseases in Sindh, children are dying in Thar.

They admit that we have made mistakes, but we have to correct Karachi, we do not have to make mistakes now.

He said he and the federal government are on a page to clean up Karachi.

Mayor Karachi urged the business leaders of the city to come forward and take part in the cleanliness of the city.
