‘Eid Miladun Nabi’ (Peace Be upon Him), on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, is being celebrated across the country with religious zeal and fervour amid tight security arrangements here on Sunday.

The day dawned with thirty-one guns salute at the Federal capital and twenty-one guns salute at all the provincial capitals.

Special prayers for the unity of Muslim Ummah and progress and prosperity of the country was offered in mosques after Fajr prayer.

Special conferences, events and Mahaafil-e-Milaad are being arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose life and teachings are beacon of light for the whole mankind.

In several cities, a number of events of Mehfil-i-Naat and Milad are scheduled to be held while processions will also be taken out to express love, devotion and respect for the Holy Prophet (Peace Be upon Him).

A large number of people, including religious scholars, will participate in the processions.

Meanwhile, streets, roads, bazaars, shopping centres, and government and private buildings have been beautifully decorated and illuminated with lights, colours, and banners bearing writings about the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘State of Madina and concept of modern Islamic Welfare State – in the light of teachings of Holy Prophet (SAWW).’

The opening session of the conference will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan while President Dr. Arif Alvi will preside over the concluding session.

Police have made foolproof security arrangements for peaceful observance of the Eid Milad across the country.
