Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said, fair distribution of water between provinces will be ensured.

According to the details, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan gave a media briefing after the meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) and said that the Prime Minister has directed the provincial governments to solve basic public issues.

She said, Council of Common Interests is a platform for consensus after the debate. The meeting considered 23 point agenda points.

The Special Assistant Minister said that a detailed consideration was taken on the issue of net hydel between the provinces.

The meeting also decided to constitute a high level committee on the issue of net hydel to ensure fair distribution of water in the all provinces. On the other hand, it has been decided to form a committee of experts on technical matters.

Talking about the meeting, she said that today’s meeting approved the policy of oil exploration and production, while Sindh reservations regarding  Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) have been removed.

To control prices, it was decided that the federal government would determine the price of food items and the provincial governments would ensure the quality of these foods.

In addition, it was decided to take steps to improve the production quality of local industries. Attendees of the meeting were also briefed on the privatization of Haveli Bahadur Shah and Balloki Power Plant.

At today’s meeting, the amendment was approved in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) ordinance 2002, the federal government will take steps to protect the rights of workers.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Prime Minister patiently heard the views of all the provinces, better service of the people is a top priority of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
