Justice Waqar is mentally upset should immediately remove from post: Farogh Naseem

Federal Minister of Law and Justice Farogh Naseem said it seems like Special Court judge Justice Waqar Seth, who gave death penalty to the former president Pervez Musharraf in high treason case is mentally upset.

While doing the press conference after an important meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding media strategy in Islamabad, Farogh Naseem stated that federal government demands Supreme Judicial Council to immediately remove justice waqar from the post.

The federal government has decided to file a reference in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against a Special Court judge Justice Waqar.

The government’s legal team has said that para 66 in the detailed verdict which states that the former president should be dragged to D-Chowk and hanged for three days straight, is a human violation and also against to the legal limits.

“The special court’s verdict has created a sense of anarchy in the country. This verdict negates the law, shariah and human rights,” the legal team added.

Sources also said that the prime minister Imran Khan, during the meeting, vowed that he would not let the country’s stability be affected and any attempt to create conflict among institutions would be foiled.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has also tasked his legal team to present the government’s reply on special court’s verdict.

Seasoned lawyer and People’s party senator Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan also gave a furious statement after the verdict of Pervez Musharraf in high treason case and said “Musharraf is not Taliban and a dead body cannot be hanged under the law of the land.”

Earlier today, Islamabad special court issued the detail verdict of former military ruler General Retired Pervez Musharraf high treason case.

The court ordered death sentence to former president Pervez Musharraf against high treason case.

However, Justice Seth and Justice Karim voted for the death sentence and said that evidence presented proved that he committed a crime.

On Tuesday, the special court had ordered death sentence to former president Pervez Musharraf in High treason case.
