Police still clueless about young girl kidnapping

An unidentified men kidnapped a young girl, Dua Mangi, and shot her friend, Haris Fatah, in Karachi’s D.H.A Bukhari Commercial area on Saturday.

The incident took place at around 8pm on a secluded road near an open-air Dhaba in Bukhari Commercial area.

The kidnapped girl, Dua Mangi, was taking a walk with her friend, Haris when 4 to 5 armed men forced the girl get in their vehicle.

When her friend Haris showed resistance, they shot him and sped off with Dua.

A probe team investigating the abduction incident visited the site to collect evidence and CCTV footage of the spot and record statements of eyewitnesses.

The investigators found an empty shell of a 9mm pistol from the spot and recorded statements of eyewitnesses.

A waiter at a tea shop in the area, which Dua along with Haris has been frequenting for the past four months, recounted to the police that they both visited the shop more often than not.

He said he never witnessed anything untoward during their visits over this period.

An FIR has been registered on a complaint of the father of the boy who was wounded by the kidnappers under charges of attempt to murder.

A CCTV camera footage acquired by BOL shows the culprits getting out of a car and shooting at Haris whilst abducting his friend Dua.

Soon after the kidnapping incident, various people posted on social media, informing the public and the concerned authorities of the incident.

Haris is in critical condition after he was shot while Dua Mangi is still missing.
