Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mufakhar Adeel and former assistant attorney general Shahbaz Ahmad Tatla were kidnapped by unknown men in Lahore earlier this week.

According to the details, SSP Mufakhar Adeel and his friend Tatla, reportedly kidnapped under mysterious circumstances a couple of days ago.

SSP Mufakhar Adeel’s cellular phone suddenly turned off on February 08.

Adeel is Battalion Commander-I at the Punjab Constabulary in Lahore.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastagir has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

He has directed authorities to make efforts for the immediate recovery of the kidnapped duo.

The police stations located in Johar Town and Naseerabad have registered separate cases for further investigations into the matter.

The government vehicle owned by Adeel had recovered from near a shopping mall, said sources.

The FIR registered at Naseerabad police station states that Tatla left his office in the Gulberg area of the city on February 7 but never returned.

Police registered the case on February 10 and started investigations.

Moreover, SSP Adeel’s wife reported him missing to the Johar Town police station.

Sources claimed Adeel was busy investigating a case when he went missing.

The cell phones of both the persons still switched off.

According to police, there is a lead in the case that they are investigating.
