Coronavirus: Sindh CM directs to supply relief goods among the needy people

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the concerned authorities to supply relief goods among the needy and daily wagers after collecting data from Provincial Disaster Management Authority.

According to the spokesman of Chief Ministers House, he also directed to collect data of deserving people from NADRA so that relief could be provided to deserving people.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed anger over the flour shortage in different cities of the country and directed Minister for Food to take action and resolve the issue immediately.

The Prime minister chaired a federal cabinet meeting today via video link to discuss four-point agenda.

As per details, the cabinet discussed the situation arising out of the coronavirus including its impact on the country’s economy and the poor people.

During the meeting, PM Imran Khan directed provinces to take stern action against price hike of daily use commodities adding that the surge in the price of daily use items is not acceptable at all.

The federal ministers also expressed reservations for not effectively promoting the steps taken by govt in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. Federal Ministers Faisal Vawda and Murad raised the issue in the cabinet meeting.

The cabinet also approved the Coronavirus Relief Package announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan last week.

The federal cabinet meeting also discussed the matter of issues being faced by exporters in various parts of the country.

Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda stated that rice exporters are facing a loss of Rs2 billion due to the goods transporters’ closure.
