New SOPs being prepared for post-lockdown period, says Murad Ali Shah

Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah said in a video message that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being prepared by the Sindh government for each sector and place of gathering.

The CM said, “Now, new rules of leading day-to-day life are developing and in the post-lockdown period, life will not be the same as it was in the first week of January 2020, therefore everyone will have to reshape his and her domestic, business and social life,”

He also said that health professionals, government functionaries, and social scientists are engaged to work according to the new SOPs regarding places of gatherings such as mosques, educational institutions, and shopping places amid the lockdown period. People will be bound to go to work or offer prayers. He said, “But it is very much clear that life has changed and now it will only and only be health-oriented,”

Apart from that, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah said the number of coronavirus cases in Sindh reached 932 whereas 17 people have died. He further informed that 9589 people were tested until Monday morning. The number of infections reported on Monday was 51.

He also informed that the number of patients recovered was 253, which makes 27.5 percent of the total cases. He added that 662 patients were being treated at private and public hospitals whereas 342 were isolated in their homes at present.

Above all, CM Murad Ali Shah insisted the social workers distribute rations only while maintaining social distance. “If you [philanthropists] fail to maintain social distance with the people you are giving rations to, these people will be infected,”

He also directed people to be socially distant. “I urge you to keep social distancing from your elders and children because they are more prone to the threat of infection,”

“I would request you to cooperate with them even if you receive more calls from different departments for inquiring about your social contacts, etc. We all are doing this for you,”
