Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said that we are ready to run trains on one hour notice as travelling before Eid-ul-Fitr will be major issue.

Speaking exclusively to BOL News, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said around sixty percent of passengers will travel after the train operation continues. CCTV cameras have been installed at all stations, he said.

As people around Pakistan need to leave for their homes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, all trains have been quarantined.

Before the worst pandemic situation in the country, around 142 trains used to run, but now, following precautionary measures and government guidelines only 15 up and 15 down trains will be operated, Rasheed said.

The Railway minister further added that the government must make decision in a day or two as the train is an affordable ride for the poor community. Hopefully proper decision will be made in few days, he said.
