Public transport to resume from Monday

A major decision of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has been taken to open all public transport under SOPs from Monday for the convenience of the people.

According to the details, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Information Adviser Ajmal Wazir said that public transport would be opened under SOPs, adding that commissioners would form SOPs in collaboration with Regional Transport Authority Transport.

He said that the revised rent would be charged as per the new oil prices.

Ajmal Wazir further said that the commissioners would decide to open individual routes within their division in view of the situation while the commissioners would also decide the route within one district or from one district to another.

He also said that the decision to open such routes which are within the boundaries of different divisions would be taken at the provincial level. The decision to open the transport was taken in consultation with the federal government.

The information adviser said that petrol pumps would be open 24 hours a day while barber shops with SOPs would be open till 4 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
