Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Friday dismissed judge Arshad Malik from his post.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif hailed the decision.
Taking to Twitter, the former Punjab chief minister thanked God for the decision, adding that it had been proven that a three-time elected prime minister was handed an unjust verdict.

Former accountability court judge has been accused in a video purportedly showing him admitting he was blackmailed into giving a verdict against Nawaz Sharif in the Al Azizia reference has been made public by the PML-N and promptly rejected by the judge at the centre of the scandal.
Judge Malik convicted Nawaz in the Avenfield case and acquitted him in the Flagship case. He was referring to assertions made by Maryam Nawaz that he was blackmailed into convicting Nawaz Sharif because his blackmailers had personal videos of him. In the video shown by Maryam, he reportedly said he had even contemplated suicide because of the video in response to Butt’s assertion that the video would ruin his life.
Judge Malik said he had heard and decided the case according to merit and the law.
