A written order has been issued by the Supreme Court on the issue of death of citizens due to load shedding and electrocution in Karachi.

According to a written order issued by the Supreme Court, there have been deaths due to electric shocks because of broken wires in Karachi and K-Electric’s explanation regarding the deaths due to electric shocks is unacceptable.

The court order said, in case of death due to electrocution, a heavy fine will be imposed on the management of K-Electric and a case of death due to electrocution will be registered against the CEO and other officials.

The order states that the federal government and NEPRA are committed to providing electricity and other basic necessities to the citizens, not only that but also made it clear that it is the responsibility of the federal government to rid the citizens of Karachi of the menace of load shedding.
