COAS Qamar Bajwa addresses at GHQ on Pakistan Defence Day

During the award ceremony at GHQ on Pakistan Defence Day, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa addressed the nation.

While addressing the award show, he said that this is the day when the unity of the nation, the homeland countless stories of love, sacrifice, and bravery were made.

The Army Chief said that this day is commemorated in memory of the martyrs of 1948, 1965, 1971, the Kargil War, and the war on terror.

“September 6 is not just a day for the Pakistani nation but also a recognition of our courage.”

General Qamar Javed Bajwa also highlighted about the Pakistan Army’s bravery and said,

“This day reminds us that we had defeated the enemy many times bigger than us yesterday and even today we are always ready to defeat the nefarious intentions of the enemy.”

He went on to say that,

“Even today we are protecting our freedom with our blood, that is why we are here today to remember the great deeds of our martyrs and conquerors and to pay homage to their sacrifices. Thanks to their courage, bravery and sacrifices, our freedom, sovereignty, peace, and security are established.”

COAS also paid tribute to the families of the martyrs and said that Pakistan will never forget the sacrifice their martyred children have made to protect the motherland.

“The families of the martyrs are in front of me, I greet them. I assure them that we will never forget the sacrifice of their loved ones, our martyrs are our heroes, and the nations that forget their heroes are annihilated.”

The Army Chief went on to praise the parents of the martyred soldiers and said,

“The entire nation is indebted to your patience and sacrifice, just as the martyrs are the pride of the entire nation, so you are also our pride, I assure you that we are and will be with you at every step.”

General Qamar Javed Bajwa also said that I congratulate the officers, junior commissioned officers, and soldiers who received the awards in today’s ceremony.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa also said that whether it is border front or terrorism, natural calamities, or repatriation duties, the Pakistan Army performs the duty of protecting and serving its nation as a very sacred duty.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa concluded the ceremony by saying,

“The Pakistani nation is a part of our faith, no enemy can defeat this love of ours, similarly love of Pakistani nation for Pakistan forces is eternal and their confidence is unshakable.”
