The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Monday issued notice to Prime Minister Imran Khan for attending a ceremony of a particular political party.

“The prime minister of Pakistan is the prime minister of the whole country, he can not associate himself with a particular group or a party,” the SC noted.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa issued the notice to PM Imran for attending the ceremony of a wing of a political party.

Attorney General Khalid Jawed Khan was also issued notice by the court for assistance in this regard.

Justice Isa expressed displeasure with advocate general Punjab after he skipped a case hearing and attended the programme at Islamabad’s Convention Centre on Friday.

The apex court has also summoned vice-chairman Pakistan Bar Council, President Supreme Court Bar Association and advocate general Punjab on the next hearing.

Earlier in a day, Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced more good news for the economy of Pakistan despite increasing Coronavirus cases.

Taking to Twitter, the premier said that in the month of September remittances from our hardworking Pakistanis abroad reached 2.3 billion, 31% higher than last September and 9% higher than August.

He wrote, “Despite COVID more good news for our economy. Alhamdulillah, remittances from our hardworking overseas Pakistanis rose to $2.3 bn in Sept 2020, 31% higher than last Sept & 9% higher than August 2020. This marks the 4th consecutive month that remittances have remained above $2 bn.”

On Sunday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to initiate action against price hike and hoarding across the country.

He said that his government will use all the resources at disposal of the state to bring down skyrocketing prices of essential food items in the country from Monday (today).
