SHC rejects Khursheed Shah’s bail plea in assets case

An accountability court (AC) has on Monday indicted Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Syed Khursheed Shah and 17 others in assets beyond case.
According to the details, Khursheed Shah and his two were among the indicted in an Rs1.24 billion assets reference.
He was presented before an accountability court in Sukkur on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention here that the anti-graft watchdog had filed assets beyond means reference of Rs 1.23 billion against Shah and 17 co-accused.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had also nominated two wives, two sons and son-in-law of Khursheed Shah in the reference.
Earlier, Sukkur Accountability Court had deferred indictment of Khursheed Shah in assets beyond income case.
AC Judge Farid Anwar Qazi heard the case. PPP leader Shah and other accused appeared before the court.
During the proceedings, NAB’s counsel had requested the court to defer the indictment as more evidence gathered against Shah and others.
The accountability watchdog requested the court to adjourn the hearing of the case till September 8, 2020.
Accepting the anti-graft body’s request, the court adjourned the hearing till Sept. 8.
