According to Global Air Quality Monitors, Lahore on Monday morning was the second most polluted city in the world.
On the other hand, Delhi ranked as the most polluted city in the world at 9:00 am with an air quality index (AQI) of 719.
As per the details, Lahore had an AQI of 430, which is categorized as “hazardous”.
It should be mentioned here that an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered “good”. An AQI over 300 is categorized as “hazardous” and needs an emergency response.
However, the US Embassy, which also monitors air quality in Pakistan’s major cities, placed Lahore’s AQI as high as 623.
After Lahore, the second most polluted Pakistani city was Faisalabad.
