China has conceded the progress in the infrastructure and energy projects being completed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework.
According to the details, the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Hua Chunying, while speaking at the 11th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum in Macao.
The Chinese spokesperson said CPEC is an important pilot program and both China and Pakistan are committed to bringing greater benefits to both the countries and the entire region.
Speaking at the forum, Chairman of CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa said there are 22 construction projects under the framework of CPEC, covering roads, railways, airports, thermal power, hydropower, renewable energy, Gwadar Port, special economic zones and other areas.
Earlier Director General ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar while giving an interview to an interview to Global Village Space, said that CPEC is a game-changer for the region. He said it is offering connectivity to the whole region and with that Pakistan becomes a connectivity hub for this whole region.
He said this is a game-changer in the sense that this project has the potential to bring prosperity to this whole region by connecting everyone. He said it is basically an economic project.
DG ISPR said India is trying to harm CPEC not to stop the progress and development of Pakistan, but also to tarnish the international image of the country. He said Pakistan raised two divisions for the security of this project and other than that we have around nine regular regiments also protecting this corridor at various locations from wherever it passes through. Besides, there are paramilitary troops are also deployed to protect the corridor.
